Shanklin URC

High Street
Isle of Wight
PO37 6LA

We are a group of committed Christians of all ages who love to worship God and seek to serve Him in our community. Our services are informal in style; with a range of music styles, Bible centred preaching and prayer ministry.

The church is situated in the heart of Shanklin, a lovely seaside town on the Isle of Wight and we also have a small Christian Bookshop (for the opening hours see the Bookshop page on the Shanklin URC Website).

Please come and pay us a visit and discover the life changing power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Shanklin URC is a member of the Evangelical Alliance

Where are we in Shanklin?

Sunday Services

Morning Worship

10:30 - A lively time of worship and learning for all ages, including Junior Church and a crèche.

 - Holy Communion is on first Sunday of the month.
 - All-age worship is on last Sunday of the month.

Prayer Ministry is available every Sunday after the service.

Evening Worship

18:30 - September - May: Informal Evening Worship

From September to May a more informal and intimate service with open prayer and participation is held with the other churches in Shanklin, who take it in turns to lead this service on Sunday evenings.

19:30 - End May - August: Open Air Worship

Every Sunday from the last one in May through to the end of August, worship is held in the open air at Rylstone Gardens in partnership with the other churches in Shanklin (for details of where this is, see How To Find Us on the Shanklin URC website).

Tuesday Bible Bite

 - 12:00 onwards - Snack lunch served in the church

 - 13:00 - 13:45 - Bible Ministry

This is usually led by the Minister and comprises systematic teaching through a book of the Bible taking a passage each week.

'Bible Bite' is a midweek opportunity for local Christians and visitors to meet over a snack lunch and to be fed from God's word. The meeting is from 13:00 to 13:45 every week at Shanklin United Reformed Church, except after Bank Holidays.

Light lunches are available from 12:00 for those attending.

There is usually half an hour of prayer afterwards from 14:00 for those who wish to stay on.
